TSPD (Thyristor Surge Protection Device) is designed to protect sensitive electronic devices from surges, voltage coupling, power supply failures and other voltage shocks. When the voltage exceeds the critical voltage, the TSPD changes from high turn-off impedance to low on-off impedance, which makes the surge current bypass the third circuit. During transient surges in branch and ring circuits, the TSPD will cause a short circuit crossover between the branch and ring circuits until the transient current is interrupted or reduced below the holding current.
